Don And Ramona Adair

Ramona I. Adair, the daughter of Edward J. and Ida S.Jacobsen Wahlert, was born October 11, 1913, at her parents farm east of Exira, Iowa, and died January 6, 2009, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 95 years.

She attended Exira schools, graduating from high school in 1930 and from Drake University in 1935. From 1935 to 1942 she taught music in the Bayard Public Schools.

On February 14, 1942, she was married to Don Adair in Buffalo, New York, where they lived for three years. In 1945 they moved to Denver, Colorado, and later to Englewood, Colorado. While in Denver, she worked in the sheet music department of the Wells Music Company for 31 years. She was a member of the ChristianChurch.

She was preceded in death by her parents,Edward and IdaWahlert; her brothers and sisters, Florence Nelson, Ruby and Garner Heath, Marvin and Edna Wahlert, Arnold and Wilma Wahlert, Leonard (Pete) and Irene Wahlert, Dayle Wahlert, and Franklyn Wahlert; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Florence and Elmer Jessen and Maxine and Walter Bauer and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Colleen (Wahlert) and her husband Fletcher Nichols of Atlantic, and a host of nieces and nephews.



Don Harry Adair was born January 2, 1914, at Exira, Iowa, the son of Chal and Bertha Adair, and died in Denver, Colorado, on November 18, 2004, at the age of 90 years.


Don graduated from the Exira High School in 1932. He was employed at Airplane Construction in Omaha, Nebraska, later working in Buffalo, New York. On February 14, 1942, he and Ramona Wahlert were married in Niagara Falls, New York, where they lived for three years. In 1945 they moved to Englewood,Colorado,where he worked for PreMix Concrete Co. for 17 years, retiring in 1972. Preceding him in death were his parents, Chal and Bertha Adair; two sisters and their husbands, Florence and Elmer Jessen and Maxine and Walter Bauer; his wife\'s parents and family, Edward J. and Ida Jacobsen Wahlert, Florence Wahlert Nelson, Marvin and Edna (King) Wahlert, Garner Heath, Arnold and Wilma Wahlert, Leonard (Pete) and Irene (Peterson) Wahlert, Dayle Wahlert, Franklyn Wahlert and several nieces and nephews.\r\n
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife Ramona, his sisters-in-law, Ruby (Wahlert) Heath of the Exira Care Center and Colleen Wahlert Nichols of Atlantic,Iowa, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Exira Cemetery in Exira, Iowa

Visitation:
Family will meet friends Thursday evening at 6:00 at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, Iowa.

Service:
Funeral service/Memorial service will be held Friday, January 16, 2009, at 10:30 A.M. at the Exira Christian Church in Exira, Iowa.
