Vivian Edith Clausen

Vivian Edith Clausen, the daughter of Kristian (Chris) and Karen Elizabeth (Johansen) Jensen, was born March 11, 1917 at her parents home near Massena, Iowa and died September 26, 2008 at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 91 years, 6 months, and 15 days.
She was baptized on April 22, 1917 in Massena and later confirmed at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Audubon. She attended rural schools then graduated from the Audubon High School with the Class of 1935. Vivian then helped at home and helped other people.
On October 8, 1935 she was united in marriage to Marius Clausen in Denison, Iowa. Seven children were born to this union. They farmed in Guthrie and Audubon Counties most of their married life. They retired near Exira, Iowa in 1977 and spent their winters in Donna, Texas. Marius died December 26, 1984. Vivian enjoyed her home then moved into the Friendship Home in Audubon in January of 2007. Vivian was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa.
Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were a daughter Joan Marie Clausen; a granddaughter Teresa Krauel; two grandsons Brian Clausen and Christopher Cress; her parents, Karen Elizabeth (Johansen) Jensen and Kristian (Chris) Jensen and one sister, Inga and husband George Kazaconi and a brother-in-law George Wilson.
Survivors include her children and spouses: Robert Lee and Sharon Clausen of Bridgeport, NE; Barbara Jean Haskins of Omaha, NE; Betty Anne and Milo Cress of Eagle, NE; Henry Richard and Cassandra Clausen of Gretna, NE; Janet Elizabeth and Al Arendt of Valley Springs, SD; and Earl Christian and Margaret Clausen of Adair, IA; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and her sister Isabelle Wilson of California.
Casket bearers will be grandsons: Robert Clausen, James Krauel, Dean Haskins, Eugene Krauel, Neil Haskins, and Jeffrey Clausen.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Arlington Heights Cemetery in Audubon.

Visitation:
The family will meet friends Tuesday evening at 6:00 at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Christopher Martin on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Audubon.
