Alice Jensen

Alice Berniece Jensen, 97, of Anita, Iowa, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Caring Acres Nursing and Rehab Center in Anita, Iowa.

Berniece was born January 15, 1918, in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin and Jetta (Jones) Flathers. She was united in marriage to Gailyn Jensen on January 4, 1937. She loved quilting, crocheting and doing crosswords. Berniece also loved to cook and her family's favorites were her homemade noodles and cream puffs.

After her husband's death, she moved to Arizona to live and care for one of her sisters. When her sister passed away she moved to Adair and then later moved to Caring Acres in Anita.

Berniece was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Jetta Flathers; her husband, Gailyn; her sons, Roger & Norman; and her 12 siblings.

She is survived by her children, Marlene (Arlen) Schutt of Fairmount, ND, Terry Jensen, Linda (Rodger) Oettchen, LuAnn (Rick) Stanley and Greg Jensen all of Adair, IA; her grandchildren, Tony, Michelle, Chad, Heather, Alice, Kathy, Wade, Shelley, Terry Jr., Scott, Bobby, Adam, Jeremiah, Jetta and Jay; her great-grandchildren, Tanner, Greg, Derek, Bridgett, Spencer, Sally, Nathan, Shawn, Jeremy, Kate, Ashley, Allison, Britney, Zach, Kristal, Cameron, Riley, Kaitlyn and Keetan; her great-great-grandchildren, Mercie, Kaiden, Calleigh, Cordell, Brooke, Katelyn, Lane, Logan, Braelyn, Lillee and Patience; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2015, at Hockenberry Family Care in Anita, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August4, 2015, at the Exira Cemetery in Exira, Iowa.
