Allan Lee Trotter was born September 3, 1938, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Glen and Edythe Jane (Bell) Trotter, and passed away Monday, April 13, 2009, at his home in Anita, Iowa.
He grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, where he attended Florence Elementary School and Tech High School. Later he lived in Elk Horn and Valley, Nebraska, California, Denver, Colorado, Missouri, then north of Anita, Iowa, for the past 8 years.
Throughout the years Allan worked in maintenance, caring for rental properties and an apartment complex. He also worked in construction and as a foreman in a lumber mill. Most recently he was self employed as a newspaper carrier.
On September 3, 1982, he was united in marriage to Karen Denise Heydorn Watts at the First United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
Allan lived a simple life and had a strong work ethic. He loved his farm and caring for the animals he and Kay raised. In his spare time Allan could be found fishing and reading. He especially enjoyed reading mysteries, American History, Civil War books and Louis L'Amour novels. Allan was a past member of the Elks and of the E. Clampus Vitus, also known as the Clampers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen Trotter and Edythe (Bell) Trotter Petersen; his daughter, Teri Marxim; his brothers, Glen Trotter and Neal "Pete" Petersen; and his sister, Shirley Trotter in infancy.
Allan is survived by his wife, Karen (Kay) Trotter of Anita, Iowa; his stepson, Steven (Charity) Watts of Omaha, Nebraska; his mother-in-law, Oddie Heydorn of Omaha, Nebraska; his sister-in-law, Corrine (Bill) Borman of Parker, Arizona; his brother-in-law, Leslie (Barbara) Heydorn of Omaha, Nebraska; his nephews, Shawn Matthew Heydorn and Aaron Reid (Candy) Heydorn both of Omaha, NE, Robert John Hanner and Daniel Paul Hanner both of Millard, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
