Anna Hansen

Anna Marilyn Hansen, 82, of Panora, Iowa, formerly of Casey, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at her home in Panora.

Marilyn was born December 17, 1933, in Elk Horn, Iowa, the daughter of Ludvig and Elna (Christensen) Larsen. She grew up in the Elk Horn and Exira area graduating from Elk Horn High School. She attended Dana College for teaching and then taught school in the Elk Horn and Exira area. She was married to Ivan Richard Hansen on June 1, 1954, at the Elk Horn Lutheran Church. They farmed in Audubon County for ten years, until in 1963, they farmed for a while in Guthrie County. Then in 1964, they moved to their farm near Casey. Marilyn lived on this farm until 2000 at which time she moved to Panora, Iowa.

She was a homemaker and a farm wife who was also active in several businesses that she operated from home. They included Amway, Avon and Rubbermaid. Marilyn read her Bible and was a lady of strong faith. She enjoyed sewing and acquiring collector plates.

Marilyn was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League in Casey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan in 1996; a daughter, LuAnn in 1960; and a son, Dana in 2015.

Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Denise (Bob) Boyle of Perry, IA and Dawn (Jonathan) Dalmas of Durham, NC; a son, Darrin Hansen and his fiancé, Kristin Endsley-Pointer of Smithville, MO; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Hansen of Casey, IA; grandchildren, Billy, Bobby, Michael and Ricky Boyle, Rachel (Wes) Rose, Sarah Dalmas, Amanda Hansen, Nicole (Joe) Bales and Dustin Hansen; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Bales; a brother, David (Bernice) Larsen of Gretna, NE; a sister, Carol Fleming of Worthington, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Casey, Iowa.

The funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Casey, Iowa, with burial in Dalmanutha Cemetery near Casey.
