Anna Marie Hansen, the daughter of Morton and Thora Hansen Ipson, was born January 9, 1929, at her parents’ home north of Kimballton, Iowa and died July 30, 2013, at the Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa at the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 21 days. Anna was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimballton, Iowa. She attended rural school near Kimballton, Iowa and then attended the Audubon High School in Audubon, Iowa. After her mother’s death, she was a homemaker for her father and brothers. In 1951, she was united in marriage to Forrest Hansen. Four children: Eddie, Linda, Coleen, and Tim were born to this union. In 1959, Anna and her children moved from Elk Horn, Iowa to Audubon, Iowa. She was employed at various restaurants and cleaned numerous houses. She received her GED Diploma in 1978. She then was employed for 12 years as a Certified Nurse’s Aide for the Friendship Home in Audubon until she was forced to retire in 1992 due to health issues. During retirement she enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren. She enjoyed her home in Audubon until she moved to the Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn in August of 2010. Anna was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. She enjoyed embroidering and doing cross stitch. Anna also enjoyed baking and always had a large vegetable garden. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Preceding her death was her son Eddie Lee Hansen; her grandson Sterling Hansen; her parents; and her brothers: Dale Ipson and Arnold Ipson. Survivors include her children: Linda Garnett of Harlan, Iowa; Coleen Hines of Audubon, Iowa; Tim Hansen and special friend Cindy Baker of Emmetsburg, Iowa; her grandchildren: Chris Petersen of Harlan; Eric Petersen of Denver, Colorado; Jennifer and husband Jim Schumacher of Harlan; Andrea and husband Zac Goodside of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Nathan Hines of Omaha, Nebraska; Faith Hines of Harlan; Brooke and husband Cody Clark of Guthrie Center, Iowa; Amber Hansen of Vermillion, South Dakota; Kela Hansen of Vermillion; Taira Hansen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; her great grandchildren: Laci Petersen, Hailey Schumacher, Austin Schumacher, Zander Schumacher, Willow Goodside, Syrus Goodside, Jason Hines, Julianna Hines, Gavin Jacobsen, Corbin Clark, Talon Hansen, Keaton Hansen, Ila Hansen, Adeline Hansen, Jayden Rae Hansen, Nadahlia Hansen, and Mason Lee Hansen; other relatives and friends.
Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Kimballton, Iowa.
Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Friday afternoon at 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon.
Service:
Funeral services will be Friday, August 2, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa.
