Asher Wade Kasperbauer

Asher Wade Kasperbauer, the son of Jed and Stephanie (Wegner) Kasperbauer, was born December 1, 2015, at the Women’s Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska and died peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones on July 12, 2016, at the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 7 months and 11 days.
Asher was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) which required several surgeries and many medical procedures. Despite his medical issues, Asher was a very happy child. He loved his rides around the hospital in his little red wagon and you could see the excitement in his beautiful brown eyes when he saw his parents. Even though his life was short he touched the hearts and lives of not only his family and friends but the respect of the medical professionals who cared for him and became part of his life.
Preceding him in death were his grandmother Jan Kasperbauer; and his great grandparents Esther Bengard, Herman and Arlene Kasperbauer, LeRoy and Mary Ann Peterson, Melvin and Helen Wegner, and Norbert and Hilda Tunning.
Survivors include his parents Jed and Stephanie Kasperbauer of Dedham, Iowa; his sister and brother Madeline Rose Kasperbauer and Mason Wendell Kasperbauer both of Dedham, Iowa; his grandparents Roger and Cindy Kasperbauer of Dedham, Iowa, and Randy and Julie Wegner of Audubon, Iowa; his great grandfather Jed Bengard of Dedham, Iowa; his aunts and uncles Heath and wife Lu Kasperbauer of Coon Rapids, Iowa, Holly Kasperbauer and Nick McKenna of Bryan, Texas, Steph Lemke and John Muehring of Ankeny, Iowa, Kenzie Weitl of Urbandale, Iowa, Jenna Kasperbauer of Gray, Iowa, Justin and wife Katie Wegner of Audubon, Iowa, Kristi and husband Jason Bock of Denison, Iowa, and Eric and wife Brooke Wegner of Audubon, Iowa; cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Keith Menter on Saturday afternoon, July 16, 2016, at 1:00 P.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. Interment will be in the Viola Cemetery northeast of Audubon, Iowa. The casket bearers will be Jake Kasperbauer, Nick Kasperbauer, and Cole Wegner. The family will meet with friends on Friday evening July 15, 2016, at 6:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.
