Audrey Arletta Twist

Audrey Arletta Twist, the daughter of Chris and Marie (Esbeck) Larsen, was born April 30, 1922, at her parents’ home in Audubon County north of Kimballton, Iowa and died April 16, 2015, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 16 days.
Audrey was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. She attended rural schools in Douglas Township; Audubon County, Iowa then helped on the family farm.
On June 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Jack William Twist at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. Jack was employed by a construction company which traveled across the United States and Audrey would move with him. During this time she was employed as a clerk in retail stores and jewelry stores. After they retired they made their home in Audubon, Iowa. Jack died on July 29, 2009. Audrey lived at home until she moved to the Exira Care Center in November of 2011.
Audrey was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. She enjoyed having coffee and desserts with her many friends. Audrey and Jack also enjoyed testing their luck at the casinos.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Jack W. Twist; her parents; and her brothers and sisters Vanda and husband Richard Jensen, Gladys and husband Harley Nielsen, Irene Larsen, Leota and husband Dale Fritz, Russell and wife Betty Larsen, Elaine and husband Alfred Ericksen, and Lyle Larsen.
Survivors include her sisters-in-law Erma Larsen of Exira, Iowa and Juanita Twist of Des Moines, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews other relatives and friends.
The honorary casket bearers will be Milo Clemmensen, Paul Rogers, and Dean Weber. The casket bearers will be Dave Ericksen, Michael Larsen, Jim Headlee, Kelly Fairchild, and Roger Larsen.
