Barbara “Bobbi” Kaye Lovejoy, the daughter of Richard and Sandra (Carpenter) Clements, was born February 9, 1964, at the Old St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa and died January 10, 2017, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 52 years, 11 months, and 1 day.
She attended school in Janesville, Iowa.
On September 5, 1987, she was united in marriage to Victor Lovejoy at the Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. They were blessed with four daughters Angela, Amanda, Ashlee and Alyssia. Bobbi studied at AIC Tech and became a registered paralegal and worked in that capacity for several businesses in the Waterloo, Iowa area. They moved to Madison, Nebraska then purchased a home in Tilden, Nebraska. Bobbi did accounting for several businesses including Coors’ Distribution where she also made banners for all their events. They moved to the Harlan area and then settled into their home in Audubon in 2012. Bobbi was employed as the Purchasing Manager for MV Transportation in Elk Horn, Iowa until she retired.
Bobbi enjoyed reading and was an avid University of Nebraska Husker fan. She loved to bake especially exotic shaped and decorated birthday cakes for each member of the family. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed the many good discussions they had over the years. As her health declined Bobbi became less mobile and she and Vic enjoyed special times just lying in bed and talking for hours about anything and everything.
Bobbi was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Shelia Lovejoy; her aunt Linda Crook; her grandparents and great grandparent; her grandparents-in-law, great-grandparents-in-law and other relatives.
Survivors include her husband Vic Lovejoy of Audubon, IA; her daughters Angela Lovejoy of Denison, IA; Amanda and husband Doug O’Neal of Council Bluffs, IA; Ashlee and husband John Olmstead of Dunlap, IA; and Alyssia Lovejoy of Audubon, IA; her grandchildren Deven Lovejoy and Marleigh O’Neal both of Council Bluffs, IA and Parker Olmstead of Dunlap, IA; her parents Richard and wife Sandy Clements of Evansdale, IA and Sandra and husband Robert Stokes of Parkersburg, IA; her brother Michal Clements of Florida; her sisters Terrie and husband Charles Skeens of Texas and Susan and husband John Nelson of Florida; her ½ brothers and ½ sister Daniel and wife Sarah Stokes of Cedar Falls, IA; Jim Clements and Michelle and husband Bob Lane all of Waterloo, IA; her step-brothers and step-sisters Sherri, Jeff and wife Holly Mastin, Traci and husband Rod Pryor, Darin Stokes, and Penny Stokes; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Dennis and wife Lee Lovejoy of Dover, AR; her sister-in-law Kim and husband Casey Bumgarner of Waterloo, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will meet with friends on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 5:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Doug Opp on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa. The casket bearers will be Doug Meister, Jeff Mastin, Mike Kruse, Jason Throener, Steve Mathis, and BA Dorsey.
