Betty Jo Debruin

Betty Jo DeBruin, the daughter of John Charles and Ruby Louise (Parrish) Donahue, was born January 10, 1966, in Goldsboro, North Carolina and died August 15, 2016, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 50 years, 7 months, and 5 days.
Betty was baptized in Winona, Minnesota and confirmed at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Betty attended the Green Lake Community Schools gradating with the High School Class of 1984.She was employed at AMANCO where she worked as a sewer assembling an assortment of products from many different types of fabric.
On December 1, 1995, she was united in marriage to Paul DeBruin in Fond du lac, Wisconsin. They were blessed with two children Kimberly and Forrest. They lived in Fond du lac for several years. They moved to Atlantic, Iowa, then Elk Horn, Iowa and later to Exira, Iowa. During this time Betty was a home maker caring for her family as the children rapidly grew. Later she became disabled due to her failing health.
Betty enjoyed her mother’s cooking, watching her favorite tv shows and taking care of her pets. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents Jim and Edna Donahue and Forrest and Louise Parrish.
Survivors include her children Kimberly Jorgensen and fiancé Adam Graves of Audubon, Iowa and Forrest DeBruin of Exira, Iowa; her grandchildren Tori, Tre, Ely, Teah, Harper, Tegan, Rosylyn, and Camryn all of Audubon, Iowa; her parents John C. and wife Ruby Donahue of Audubon, Iowa; her brother and sister John T. Donahue of Marshfield, Wisconsin and Mandie and husband Chris Finely of Audubon, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Doug Opp on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. Interment will be at a later date.
