OBITUARY OF BEVERLY D. PAULSEN
     Beverly Darlene Paulsen, the daughter of Harry and Euphemia Wulf Osterman, was born November 29, 1928, in Arlington, Nebraska and died March 23, 2008, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 24 days.
     Beverly was baptized June 17, 1929, and confirmed at the Arlington Community Church in Arlington, NE. She attended Arlington Public Schools, graduating from the Arlington High School with the Class of 1946. Bev attended Midland Community College in Fremont, NE, then graduated from Wayne State Teachers College in Wayne, NE in 1948. She taught fifth grade music at the Arlington Public Schools. She enjoyed playing the piano for the church and all the school musicals, then also gave piano lessons.
     On October 19, 1948, she was united in marriage to Richard P. Paulsen in Papillion, NE. They lived in Riverton, IA; Sidney, IA, and Griswold, IA before moving to Audubon in 1969. During this time Bev accompanied the students in each town for musicals, band and choral contests. Bev also taught piano lessons in each community where she lived. Richard died December 13, 1988. Bev lived in Audubon until 1991 when she moved to Fremont, NE for a short time, then moved to Carroll, IA in 1994. In 2003 she moved to Okoboji, IA where she lived until she became a resident of the Friendship Home in Audubon in 2005.
     Bev was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Audubon. She was active in P.E.O. in each community they lived. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Arlington, NE.
     Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were her son Mark Paulsen; her parents and her brothers Roscoe Osterman and Hardy Osterman.
     Survivors include her daughter Alica and Jim Allen of Lakeside, AZ; her daughter-in-law Cassie Paulsen of Rockford, IL; her grandchildren: Emily Paulsen of Chapel Hill, NC; John and Elizabeth Paulsen of Falcon Heights, MN; Alison and Jason Stead of Mesa, AZ; and J.R. Allen of San Diego, CA: her godchild Kelly Smith and daugher Zoey of Arnolds Park, IA; her great-grandaughter Izabelle Marie Stead of Mesa, AZ; her special grandchild Julie Larsen of Guthrie Center, IA; her sisters-in-law: Mary Osterman of McCook, NE and Beverly Osterman of Fremont, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
     Honorary casket bearers will be Richard and Margaret Evans, Vincent and Phyllis Jensen, Clark (Sam) and Lois Kauffman, William and Gert Madsen, Cliff and Monica Petersen, Perry and Evelyn Roberts, and Doug and Linda Weston. Casket bearers will be J.R. Allen, John Paulsen, Jason Stead, Randy Osterman, B.J. Stecker, and Reid Keller.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, NE on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation:
The family will meet friends Thursday morning from 9:30 until time of service.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Dwayne Ferguson on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, IA.
