Billy Wesley Taylor was born April 20, 1930, the son of Murvin Newton and Madeline Taylor in Cass County, Iowa, and passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011, at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Atlantic, Iowa.
He was raised in the Cass County area and attended country school. He resided in California for a few years, before returning to Iowa.
Bill was a truck driver in his younger years, later working road construction.
He liked to have fun, joke around, and he loved big trucks. He was a hard worker, having a strong work ethic. But most of all, he loved his grandkids.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Murvin and Madeline Taylor; his sister, Juanita Grindle, and her husband, Dworvin; and a son in infancy.
He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda (Rick) Burbridge of Hannibal, Missouri, Billie (Mike) McLaren of Atlantic, Iowa and April (Dana) King of Des Moines, Iowa; his grandchildren, Ashley Robinson, Timothy Taylor and James McLaren; his sister, LaRue (Art) Wheelock of Anita, Iowa; his brother, Norman (Carolyn) Taylor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and his ex-wife, Sharon Taylor of Perry, Iowa.
Visitation with family will be from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Anita, Iowa.
A graveside service will take place at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery in Anita, Iowa.
