Bobbie Paul Green, 77, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
Bob was born March 18th, 1933 on the family farm in Calhoun County, Iowa. He attended various schools in the area, graduating from Callendar High School in 1951. Bob was a member of the National Guard for 2 years. After that, he served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years, being honorably discharged in 1957. He then attended Iowa State University, graduating in 1961.
Bob was married to Geraldine Glee Toms on June 12, 1955 in Lake City, Iowa. They later moved to Atlantic, where they raised their family. Bob worked as the Credit Manager of Walnut Grove for 32 years until semi-retiring to several part time jobs. His last years were spent driving for SWIPCO. Bob was a member of the First Church of Christ in Atlantic, Iowa and the BPO Elks Lodge #445.
Some of Bob's favorite past times were hunting, fishing, golf, watching sports from his favorite chair, and dancing with his lovely wife, Geri.
Bob is survived by his wife, Geri of Atlantic, his children; Kathy Sanders of West Des Moines, Iowa, Steve (Donna) Green of Atlantic, Iowa, and Dianna (Randy) Kuhns of Atlantic, Iowa. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren; Keisha (Aaron) Thompkin, Ben (Stephanie) Sanders, Seth Kuhns, Ryan Kuhns, Amber (Tim) Singleton, Mary Green and Jeff Green, 7 great-grandchildren, and many siblings.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, William and Vera Green; brother, Clifford (Gene) Green, son-in-law; Ben Sanders, nephew; Jim Green; brother-in-law; Denny Subbert, and a sister-in-law; Sharon Green.
Memorials can be made to Bob's family.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 29, 2010 with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 30th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa, with a luncheon following in the community room at Hockenberry's.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
Hockenberry Family Care is in charge of the arrangements.
