Bonnie June Knoell

July 12, 1930 — June 22, 2012

Bonnie June Knoell, the daughter of Herman and Lillian Cross Hirchert, was born July 12, 1930, near Belden, Nebraska and died June, 22, 2012, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 10 days. Bonnie was baptized and later was confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Laurel, Nebraska. She attended Laurel Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1947. She attended a business school in Sioux City, Iowa for a short time then returned to Laurel and was employed in the business office at the Home Oil Service Station. On November 22, 1948, she was united in marriage to Donald Emery Knoell, Sr. at the Lutheran Church in Laurel, Nebraska. Six children were born to this union. Bonnie was a homemaker for many years. The family lived in several communities, then moved to Anthony, Kansas where she was employed as an office administrator for J.M. Cleminshaw. In 1980 they moved to Audubon and Bonnie was employed at DeLong’s garment factory in Exira, Iowa and later in Atlantic, Iowa until she retired in 1995. Bonnie was a member of the Audubon County Historical Society. She had been a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts for several years. Bonnie loved to work in her garden and enjoyed refinishing her many wood projects. She enjoyed being out doors and going fishing. Don died February 20, 2011. Bonnie has continued to enjoy her home in Audubon. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Knoell, Sr.; her sons Darrel Knoell and Marlin Knoell, her parents; her brother Carol Hirchert; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Boyd Knoell and Jo Ellen Stolze. Survivors include her sons Gerald and wife Nannette Knoell of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Carol Lee Knoell of Audubon, Iowa, Donald, Jr. and wife Terri Knoell of Eldora, Iowa, and Randall Knoell of Audubon; her daughter-in-law Keiko Knoell of LeMoore, California; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; her brother Richard and wife Linda Hirchert of Dakota City, Nebraska; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bonnie Hirchert of Laurel, Nebraska, Melva and husband Earl Pinkelman of Hartington, Nebraska, Marlene and husband Melfred Peterson of Hinton, Iowa, Lois Knoell of Omaha, Nebraska, Gerald Stolze of South Sioux City, Nebraska; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord, Nebraska.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at 6:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.

Service:
There will be a graveside service on Thursday morning June 28, 2012, at 11:00 A.M at the Concord Cemetery in Concord, Nebraska.
