Cameron James Watkins

Cameron James Watkins, age 24, of Omaha, NE, a native of Atlantic, IA, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Mr. Watkin's life was taken away from us much too early. He was innocent bystander, and he was caught in the crossfire of a shooting in Omaha. He was born on June 21, 2000, in Atlantic, Iowa to Zachery Watkins and Megan Goolsby. He graduated from Atlantic High School then went on to attend Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa for Design Technolgy.

Cameron lived for a time in Red Oak, Iowa and then later moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha, NE. He enjoyed watching movies and playing video games as well as spending time with his family, especially his girlfriend, Kyi Weng and his children, Arial and Asher. He worked for a time at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, then on to Tyson Foods where he was employed for 3 years until his untimely death.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Kyi Weng and their children, Arial Watkins and Asher Watkins all of Omaha; his father, Zachary Watkins of Atlantic, Iowa; brother, Dante Watkins; aunt, Cheyenne Register and Uncle Devin Register

A Public visitation with the family present will be held from 5 pm till 7 pm, Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa. Family will be present at that time.
