Carolyn Lee Mulford

February 19, 1941 — March 17, 2015

Carolyn Lee Mulford, the daughter of Edwin and Rose (Lebeck) Mulford, was born February 19, 1941, in Carroll, Iowa and died March 17, 2015, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa.
Carolyn was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon, Iowa. She attended Audubon Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1959. Carolyn moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she was employed as a Nanny while she attended business school. She returned to Audubon for a short time then moved to Des Moines, Iowa and did secretarial work for Hawkeye Insurance for several years. Carolyn returned to the Audubon area for a few years and was employed at the Cass County Memorial Hospital and later the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department. In 1977 she returned to Des Moines and attended the Des Moines Area Community College and received a degree as an Executive Administrative Assistant in 1978. Carolyn worked for the National Kidney Foundation for several years until in 1986 the Foundation moved from the area. She then did secretarial work for the State of Iowa in the Inspections and Appeals Department until she had to retire because of her health. Carolyn continued to live in the Des Moines area until she moved to the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa in 2002.
Carolyn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon. She enjoyed visiting with the staff and residents of the Friendship Home. She loved going for rides in the car and turning up the music on the radio and singing along. It was always a treat to stop at the Dairy Queen and get either a hot fudge Sunday or a chocolate ice cream cone. Carolyn enjoyed watching sports especially when then the girls played basketball.
Preceding her in death was her parents; her nephew Brian Mulford; and her niece Angie Wilson.
Survivors include her son Mark Mulford of Des Moines, Iowa; her brothers Larry Mulford and his special friend Carol Andersen and Gary and wife Gloria Mulford all of Audubon, Iowa; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The casket bearers will be Steven Mulford, Jason Mulford, Jake Mulford, Jen Stetzel, and Clint Stetzel.
