Carrie Renee Jensen

Carrie Renee Jensen, the daughter of Otto and Elsie Schmidt Jensen, was born September 26, 1917, in her parents’ home in Douglas Township, Audubon County, Iowa, and died July 11, 2011, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 15 days. Carrie was baptized and confirmed at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church where she was a life-long member. She attended rural school in Audubon County and Audubon High School. Carrie spent her adult life living and working in Audubon. Prior to her retirement in 1986 she was employed at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital. Carrie was active in her church where she served many years as a Sunday school teacher. She also enjoyed archiving family records and photos and working word puzzles. She has resided at the Friendship Home since 1987. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Evelyn Nielsen, and her niece Mary Ann Miller. Survivors include her sister Ruby and husband Harry Rasmussen of Audubon, Iowa; her brother-in-law Raymond Nielsen of Audubon; her nieces and nephews: Shirley and husband Vern Meyer of Springfield, Missouri, Ron and wife Donna Nielsen of Hamlin, Iowa, Sheryl Burmaster of Golden Valley, Minnesota, Norlan and wife Lois Rasmussen of Audubon, and Marvin and wife Beth Rasmussen of Jefferson, Iowa; grand nieces, grand nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials:
The family prefers memorials to the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Audubon or the Alzheimer's Association.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery west of Audubon, Iowa.

Visitation:
Friends may call at their convenience at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Mrs. Barbara Christensen on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 2:30 P.M. at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church west of Audubon, Iowa.
