Chad D. Cooper, 25, of Adair, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at his home.
Chadleon David Cooper was born October 18, 1982, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of David M. Cooper and Paula R. Poulin.
He lived in Atlantic until age 6, when the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska. Chad spent most of his childhood in Omaha.
He attended Benson High School in Omaha. Chad lived in Missouri Valley, Iowa, for 4 years and spent the past 3 years in Adair, Iowa.
On March 29, 2004, Chad married Alma S. Goodwin at the Harrison County Court House in Logan, Iowa.
He was a construction worker and had been employed by Abild and United Steel Erectors, both in Atlantic.
Chad is survived by his wife, Alma Cooper of Adair, Iowa; his two daughters, Makayla Anne and Brooke Ashlynn Cooper, both at home in Adair; his sister Jamie Hilliard and her husband, Scott of Elliott, Iowa; his brother, Joshua Watkins of Adair, Iowa; his maternal grandmother, Ruth Haig of Oakland, Iowa, and his maternal grandfather, Alan Poulin of Atlantic, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Leon and Sylvia Cooper of Arizona. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jacob and Renee Hilliard, both of Elliott, Iowa, Robert, Branden, Keefer, Jessa and Makena Ericksen, all of Missouri Valley, Iowa; his mother-in-law, Jane Goodwin of Missouri Valley, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Mindi Goodwin of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Sandee Ericksen and her husband, Doug of Missouri Valley, Iowa and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Cooper and Paula Poulin; his grandparents-in-law, Robert and Eloise Goodwin of Rock Falls, Illinois and Douglas and Alma Hockenbury of Jackson, New Jersey.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2008, at the Adair Community Centre in Adair, Iowa, with the Reverend Lynn Gardner of the Adair United Methodist Church officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, prior to the service, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Adair Community Centre.
Burial of ashes will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Lewis, Iowa, at a later date.
Hockenberry-Mullen Funeral Home in Adair, Iowa, is handling the arrangements.
