Charles Edwin Krogh

Charles Edwin Krogh, the son of Martin and Edith Christensen Krogh, was born May 21, 1926, at his parents home in Greeley Township, Audubon County, Iowa and died June 3, 2008, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA at the age of 82 years and 12 days.
Charles was baptized at the Exira Lutheran Church. He attended rural schools in Audubon County and also the Exira Public School and helped operate the family farm.
On April 16, 1948, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Ruth Jensen at the Exira Lutheran Parsonage by Rev. Stanley Larsen. He was a longtime member of the church and they had recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Charles loved farming, it was his passion and his life. He loved the early morning drives to the family farm east of Exira and could observe the crops growing along the way. Charles farmed with his son Denny for over 35 years and loved every minute of it. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, birthdays were very special times. Charles and Charlotte moved to Exira in 1994, but they continued to farm and never retired.
Preceding him in death were his daughter-in-law Joyce Krogh; his parents; his brother Dale Krogh; his sister Agness Rose and Clarence Christensen; his brothers-in-law: Chris and wife Eloise Jensen; Carl and wife Ethel Jensen; Walter and wife Doris Jensen; Bertraum Jensen and Darwin McNutt; his sisters-in-law: Bertha Hestir; Mar Soliene Jensen; Mary and husband Sam Simonsen; and Pauline Jones; his nephew Jerry Krogh and a niece Shirley Freeman.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte Krogh of Exira, IA; his sons: Terry and wife Charlene Krogh of New Providence, IA; Dennis Krogh of Exira, IA; Randall and wife Dorothy Krogh of Atlantic, IA; his grandchildren: Kyle and wife Teri Krogh of Slater, IA; Victoria Krogh, Christopher Krogh, and Randi Cranston, all of Atlantic, IA; Tyler Beckel of Shenandoah, IA; his great grandchildren; Kale and Jace Krogh of Slater, IA; his step-grandchildren: Eric Clinton of Falls Church, VA; Joseph Clinton and fiancé Alysia Clark of Cedar Falls, IA; his step-great-grandchildren: Andrew Clinton and Katlyn Clinton, both of Falls Church VA; his sisters-in-law: Elinor Krogh and Clare McNutt both of Exira, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Exira Cemetery.

Visitation:
The family will meet friends Thursday evening at 6:00 at Kessler Funeral Home in Exira.

Service:
Funeral services will be Friday, June 6, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Exira Lutheran Church.
