Charles Smith

Charles Evan Smith was born April 4, 1951, in Shenandoah, Iowa, the son of Charles Edward and Bertha Juanita (Rhodes) Smith and passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center in Atlantic, Iowa.

He grew up in Blanchard, IA, and attended the Pusey Elementary School in Council Bluffs, IA. Chuck then lived at the Glenwood State School until 1968, when he moved to the Siena/ Francis House in Omaha, NE, where he worked in the laundry. He moved to Atlantic to live with his family in 2012. Chuck enjoyed playing cards and working on his coloring books.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Smith.
Chuck is survived by his mother, Bertha Fudge of Atlantic, IA, his brothers, Albert Smith of Atlantic, IA and James Smith of Henderson, IA; his sister, Deborah Greenwood of Omaha, NE; his half-brother, Harold Bartlett of Atlantic, IA; his half- sister, Ida Norris of Atlantic, IA; his nieces and nephews, James Smith and Albert Smith of Atlantic, IA, Arliss (Brian) Norton of Manning, IA, Teresa Taenzler of Omaha, NE, Erica Balmer of Council Bluffs, IA, Robert Greenwood Jr. and Ashley Greenwood of Omaha, NE, Rosie Marie Smith of Henderson, IA, Donald Norris Jr. of Anita, IA, Donna Sams of Atlantic, IA and Margaret Nugunst of Council Bluffs, IA; other relatives and friends.

Burial of cremated remains will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
