Christine L. Moore, 46, of Adair, Iowa, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.
Christine LaVonne Solomon was born May 12, 1963, the daughter of Orville Lee and Maurine Estella (Cox) Solomon, in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Sioux City where she graduated from West High School and then continued her education at WITT Technical College for architectural drafting.
On September 30, 1988, she was united in marriage to Clifton C. Moore in Atlantic, Iowa.
In the past, she had been employed by McDonalds, The Clarinda Company, Snyder and Associates, Easter Foods, DeLongs, Kum & Go and Owners Revolution (formerly Shafer Systems). Most recently she and Clif ran a home based, wholesale, fresh organic produce business.
Christine loved the outdoors, where she spent her time camping, fishing and vegetable and flower gardening. She also enjoyed baking, and canning the fruits of her labor. Most of all, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and friends. She shared a special bond with her nephew, Kirk Bradley.
She is survived by her husband of 21 ½ years, Clifton C. Moore of Adair; her mother, Maurine E. Solomon of Sioux City, Iowa; siblings, Betty Scott of Sioux City, Iowa, Beverly Smith of North Sioux City, Iowa, Rufus (Pam) Solomon of Arizona, Donna Schmidt of Rapid City, SD, Marie (Rick) Schmidt of Gilbert, Arizona, Virginia (Richard) Von Hagel of Atlantic, Iowa, Kelvin (Kathy) Solomon of Westfield, Iowa; mother-in-law, Patricia (Wendell) Schmidt of Atlantic, IA; sister's-in-law, Michaelle (Rex) Peterson of Casey, IA and Lynn (Rick) Richter of Casey, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other family and friends.
Christine is preceded in death by her father, Orville Solomon; her grandparents; her sister, Bonnie Solomon; her brother-in-law, Allen Schmidt; and her father-in-law, Charles R. Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church in Adair, Iowa, with a luncheon following the funeral service, also at the church.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009, from 12:00-8:00 p.m. with the family present to greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hockenberry Family Care in Adair, Iowa.
