Clara Mitchell

Clara E. Mitchell, 87, of Omaha, Nebraska, originally from Anita, Iowa, and formerly of Tacoma, Washington, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at Select Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

Clara Elizabeth Wiese was born on December 13, 1919, in Anita, Iowa, the daughter of Hugo and Hattie (Swartz) Wiese.

She graduated from Anita High School. Following graduation she moved to Tacoma, Washington, and for the past seven years has lived in Omaha, Nebraska, to be closer to her family.

On March 19, 1939, she was united in marriage to Jack D. Mitchell.

Clara was a hard worker all of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Margaret Zion of Omaha, Nebraska, Bob Haszard of Atlantic, Iowa, Mike Wiese and his wife, Kathy of Omaha, Nebraska, Joel Wiese of Moutain Home, Idaho, Paulette Carlson and her husband, Doug of Chicago, Illinois, Pam Giovanelli and her husband, Gus of Escondido, California, and Debbie Lurdstom and her husband, Harold of Stockton, California; and numerous cousins.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Hattie Wiese; husband, Jack; son, David; twin brother, Clark; brother, Gail; sisters, Dorothy Klever, Mildred Haszard, and Margaret Wiese in infancy; and nephews, Gary and Charles Klever.

Graveside memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita, Iowa.
No visitation has been scheduled.
