Connie Sue Nevins, age 69, of Atlantic, IA, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Atlantic Specialty Care.
Connie Sue Nevins was born on March 6, 1956, in Manchester, Iowa, to Donald and Inez Nevins. She was welcomed by her sister, Peggy, and was followed in birth by five younger brothers: Don, Richard, Greg, Jeff (twins), and Steven. The family moved from Carroll, Iowa, to Atlantic, Iowa, in 1959, where Connie attended high school. She graduated with the class of 1975 and lived with her parents in Atlantic after graduation. During that time, she enjoyed many camping adventures, visiting family and friends. As the family grew with marriages and births, Connie made many special gifts for each occasion. She loved making cross-stitch angels and assembling puzzles that she framed and gifted. She spent countless hours with her mother selecting the right materials and creating perfect keepsakes. We will cherish these gifts forever.
After her parents passed away, Connie moved into her very own little place. She loved her cozy apartment and enjoyed decorating every room. For a time, she worked at Cass Inc. and later became a sales associate at Bonnesen's 5 & 10. She enjoyed marking stock and greeting customers. Connie mastered driving a small scooter around town, gaining even more independence by running her own errands. She made friends easily and loved dining out with them and just visiting. In the last four years, Connie became a resident at Atlantic Specialty Care. She engaged in activities there and got to know both residents and staff. Throughout her life, Connie faced many challenges, but she overcame every single one until her health declined. She felt Jesus' love for her, and it carried her through the tough days.
Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings; Peggy, (Randy) of Manson, IA, Don (Nancy) of Adel, IA, Richard (April) of Gretna, NE, Greg (Jayne) of Council Bluffs, IA, Jeff (Joni) Council Bluffs, IA, Steven (Rhonda), Avoca, IA; nephews, Brian, Dustin, Chase, Eric, Aaron & Ben, nieces Joy, Jeanette, Lindsay, Jamie, Krissy, Kasie & several great nephews & nieces.
