Connie Sue Nevins, age 69, of Atlantic, IA, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Atlantic Specialty Care.
Connie Sue Nevins was born to Donald and Inez Nevins on March 6th, 1956, in Manchester, Iowa. She was welcomed by her sister, Peggy, and later, 5 brothers: Don, Richard, Greg & Jeff (Twins) & Steven. The family moved to Atlantic from Carroll in 1968. Connie attended high school in Atlantic and graduated with the class of 1975. After graduation, she lived with her parents in Atlantic. During that time, she embarked on many camping adventures, visiting family and friends. As the family expanded with marriages and births, Connie created many special gifts for each occasion. She enjoyed crafting cross-stitch angels and assembling puzzles that she framed and gifted. She spent numerous hours with our mother selecting the right materials and putting together the perfect keepsakes. We will cherish these gifts forever.
After her parents passed away, Connie moved into her very own little place. She loved her small apartment and enjoyed decorating each room. For a time, she worked at Cass Inc., and later she became a sales associate at Bonnesen's 5 & Dime. She loved marking stock and greeting and assisting customers. Connie mastered driving a small scooter around town and gained even more independence by running her own errands. She made friends easily and enjoyed dining out with them and just visiting. In the last four years, Connie became a resident at Atlantic Specialty Care. She participated in activities there and became acquainted with both residents and staff. Throughout her life, Connie faced many challenges. She overcame every single one until her health started to fail her. She felt Jesus' love for her, and it carried her through the difficult days.
Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings; Peggy (Randy) of Manson, Don (Nancy) Nevins of Adel, IA, Richard (April) Nevins of Gretna, NE, Greg (Jayne) of Council Bluffs, IA, Jeff (Joni) Council Bluffs, IA, Steven (Rhonda), Avoca, IA; nephews, Brian, Dustin, Chase, Eric, Aaron & Ben, nieces Joy, Jeanette, Lindsay, Jamie, Krissy, Kasey & several great nephews & nieces.
