Corwin Keith Kitelinger, the son of Keith and Ethel Knudsen, Kitelinger, was born December 30, 1935, at his grandparents Knudsen home in rural Audubon County near Brayton, Iowa and died February 13, 2012, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 13 days. Corwin was baptized at the Oakhill Danish Lutheran Church west of Exira and confirmed at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira. He attended rural schools near Brayton, Iowa and then graduated from the Exira High School with the Class of 1954. He attended Dana College in Blair, Nebraska where he studied for a year and a half. Corwin moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming and was employed at Frontier Airlines. In the fall of 1958, he was inducted into the U.S. Army. Corwin was stationed at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri when his father died and Corwin returned home to help on the farm and was transferred to the Army National Guard. On September 1, 1962, he was united in marriage to Sherry Green at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira. Three children Dawn, Lana, and Keith were born to this union. Corwin and Sherry operated his family farm where he raised livestock and grew row crops. He retired from farming in 1992 and they moved into Brayton. Corwin worked various jobs including working for the Audubon Vet Supply and later the Audubon Furniture Mart in Audubon until he retired in 2007. In January of 2009, they moved into Exira. Corwin later moved to the Exira Care Center in April of 2010. Corwin was a member of the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira. He enjoyed bowling, camping, and playing golf. He liked to work in his yard. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Corwin was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Richard Bunk and Margaret Green; and his brother-in-law Richard Kent Green. Survivors include his wife Sherry Kitelinger of Exira, Iowa; his children Dawn and husband John Hahn of Cameron, Missouri, Lana Kitelinger of Guthrie Center, Iowa and Keith and wife Andrea Kitelinger of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandchildren Lynze Hahn and fianc Richard Schilling both of St. Joseph, Missouri, John Patrick Hahn, III of Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, Joshua Kitelinger of Brayton, Iowa, Emma Kitelinger and Claire Kitelinger both of Kansas City; his sisters Colleen and husband Lyle Jeppesen of Anita, Iowa and Suzanne and husband Bob Behrends of The Villages, Florida; his brother-in-law Barry and wife Doris Green of Arlington, Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Service:
Corwin requested that his body be donated to the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa in an effort to help study Alzheimers disease from which he suffered. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date.
