Cynthia Kay Chambers

Cynthia Kay Chambers, the daughter of Leland Rogers and Sandra Kay Haskins Chambers, was born September 11, 1959, in Audubon, Iowa and died July 7, 2010, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 50 years, 9 months, and 26 days.
Cindy was baptized and confirmed at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa. She attended the Exira schools for several years then transferred and graduated from the Audubon Community Schools. Cindy moved to the New Hope Village in Carroll, Iowa. While living at New Hope, she was employed at the New Hope Village Store where she made all types of ceramics. In 1992 she moved to a group home in Manning, Iowa. Cindy worked at Vocational Enterprises assembling all types of products. In April of 2009 she moved to Exira, Iowa and made her home at the Exira Care Center.
Cindy was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Manning, Iowa. While living in Carroll she was a member of the New Hope Village Sign Choir. The choir entertained audiences in the surrounding communities and even performed at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, Iowa. Cindy enjoyed attending Camp Sunnyside during the summers for many years. She always enjoyed going out with her family, especially her sister and brother.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Lee and Sandra Chambers, and her grandparents.
Survivors include her sister and brother: Paula and husband Lowell Klindt of Exira, Iowa, and Daniel and wife Rhonda Chambers of Missouri Valley, Iowa; her nieces and nephew: Amanda and husband Alfonso Morales of Victoria City, Mexico, Michelle and husband Jacob Sanborn and theirchildren Rosemary and Jaden all of Menno, South Dakota, Daniel Lee Chambers of Springfield, Missouri; her grandfather: Edwin Kopke of Rising City, Nebraska; Aunts, Uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Honorary casket bearers will be her house mates in Manning: Craig, Curtis, Susie, and Kathy. Casket bearers will be Tim Petersen, Chris Petersen, Paul Wegner, Mike Jensen, Randy Ruhge, and Dick Zimmerman.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Sunday afternoon, July 11, 2010, from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Jud Stover on Monday, July 12, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa.
