Daleth O'Neall Wulf

August 11, 1916 — April 29, 2008

Daleth ONeall Wulf, the daughter of Lemuel Arthur and Vena Irene ONeall Arnold, was born August 11, 1916, in Lamoni, Iowa and died April 29, 2008, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 18 days.
Daleth was baptized in the Methodist Church then later confirmed at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Exira in March of 1983. She moved with her family frequently. She attended several different elementary schools, then graduated from the Milton High School in Milton, IA with the Class of 1934. During high school she excelled in declamatory contests. She attended Culver-Stockton College at Cantril, MO for one year and then taught country school. She was employed at Bendix Aviation before she started working at the Munitions Plant in Burlington, IA. She enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard on September 23, 1943. During her tour of duty she was a store-keeper doing payroll and was stationed in Washington, DC. On June 14 of 1946 she was honorably discharged and moved to Atlantic, IA and was employed at the Western Popcorn Company as a bookkeeper.
On November 27, 1947, she was united in marriage to Herbert W. Wulf at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Exira. They lived in Audubon for a short time, then moved to Exira. In 1949 they moved to the Wulf family farm southeast of Exira. They lived on the farm and operated it until they retired. Herb suffered a stroke in 1992 and they moved into Exira. Herb died February 24, 2002. Daleth lived in her home until she moved to the Exira Care Center on January 14, 2008.
Daleth was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Exira. She was a 60 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the Thursday Club who owned the library which they donated to the City of Exira. She was a member of the Genealogy Club and the Audubon County Historical Society. She had been a leader of the Jolly Juniors 4-H Club.
Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were her parents and her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Wanda Arnold, Robert Wulf and Marie Wiemann.
Survivors include her children: Susan and her husband John Osvald of Exira, IA and John and his wife Mary Wulf of Audubon, IA; her grandchildren: Paul Joseph (P.J.) Osvald of Beaver Dam, WI; Dr. Andrea Kae and her husband Dr. Brent Pikkula of Cape Girardeau, MO and Autumn Leslie Wulf of Audubon; her brother F.D. Arnold of Alden, IA; her longtime friend Hazel Christ of Exira; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family prefers memorials to the Exira Public Library

Cemetery:
Inurnment will be in the Exira Cemetery.

Visitation:
The family will meet friends Sunday evening at 7:00 with a Scripture Service at 7:30 at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira.

Service:
Mass of the Christian Burial will be Monday, May 5, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Exira, IA.
