David Dressler

David Allen Dressler, 48, of Anita, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.

Dave was born June 16, 1967, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Gary A. and Donnis Lee (Keller) Dressler. He grew up in rural Anita, Iowa, and graduated from Anita High School in 1986. He attended the University of Iowa and graduated in 1991 with a degree in finance. Dave worked in the financial services industry with IDS/American Express in Minneapolis. Most recently, he worked as a custodian at the Nishna Valley Family YMCA in Atlantic, IA.

He liked to discuss politics. Dave also enjoyed Iowa Hawkeye sports and participating in martial arts. He was also an avid reader.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Dave is survived by his parents, Gary and Donnis Dressler of Anita, IA; brothers, Monte (Melinda) Dressler of rural Anita and Kirk Dressler of Greenfield, IA and his special friend Sommay Soulinthavong of Des Moines, IA; nieces, Amanda Dressler of rural Anita, IA and Danielle (Josh) Allsup and their children Brookelyn and Payton of Stuart, IA; a nephew, Ben Dressler of Exira, IA; aunts and uncles, Ted and Sue Jessen of Anita, IA, Jerry and Carol Wilson of Oakland, IA, Cliff and Dorothy Danner of Knoxville, IA and Larry and Adrienne Keller of Bridgewater, NJ; and many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Hockenberry Family Care in Anita, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Anita, Iowa, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita, Iowa.

Memorials are preferred to the Anita Public Library or the United Methodist Church in Anita, Iowa.
