Debra Kay Inman

Debra Kay Inman, the daughter of Rex Lewis and Dorothy Christine (Nielsen) Inman, was born May 24, 1956, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa and died May 20, 2017, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital at the age of 60 years, 11 months, and 26 days.
Deb was baptized and confirmed and was a member of the Hamlin Lutheran Church in Hamlin, Iowa. She attended the Audubon Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1975. Deb studied Culinary Arts for a short time then helped at home.
In April of 1979 she became an employee of the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa. She worked as a Dietary Aide and during her employment she received many awards most notably the Excellence in Long Term Care in Dietary Services Award from the Iowa Health Care Association and Iowa Center for Assisted Living in 2012. Deb loved working at the Friendship Home and she was greatly appreciated by the many residents she helped over the 37 years she was employed.
Deb enjoyed watching sports and her favorite teams were the Kansas City Chiefs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Deb was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching TV. Her favorite shows were Survivor, Big Brother, and the many cooking challenge shows. During her treatments Deb’s comfort foods were Jelly Bellys, red licorice, and M&Ms. Deb enjoyed gathering with her friends, singing Karaoke, visiting, and joking and she never missed an opportunity to brag about her nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers Eugene Inman and Rodney Inman; her sister Diana Inman; her brother-in-law Wayne Ludwig; and her nephew Todd Nielsen.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters: Phyllis and husband Dick Dondlinger of Des Moines, Iowa, Doug and wife Kathy Inman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Howard Inman of Onawa, Iowa, Karol Ludwig of West Des Moines, Iowa, Karen Inman of Creston, Iowa, Donna and husband Ron Nielsen of Hamlin, Iowa, Janet Sheeder of Bayard, Iowa, Verne and husband Jon Seime of Chandler, Arizona, and Kent and wife Kathy Inman of Audubon, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many special friends.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be conducted by Pastor Steven Frock on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa. The family will meet with friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Hamlin Lutheran Cemetery east of Hamlin, Iowa. The honorary casket bearers will be her nieces and nephews: Jody Stern, Stephanie Lane, Ashley Novak, Jason Sheeder, Matt Sheeder, Nathan Inman, Joey Inman, Kayla Inman, Garrett Inman, Lisa Dondlinger-McCall, Christine Seime, and Sara Seime. The casket bearers will be her brothers Doug Inman and Kent Inman.
