Del Warner

Del Ray Warner, 61, of Adair, Iowa, passed away at his home on August 11, 2012. Del was born in Atlantic on September 18, 1950 to Carl Allen & Janice Ann (Bales) Warner. He was raised on the family farm west of Adair and also farmed north of Adair all of his life. Del was a member of the National Guard from 1970 to 1976.

Del was united in marriage on November 16, 1971 to LuAnn Jensen and to this union were born daughters, Heather and Alice. On November 26, 1988 Del was united in marriage to Quanna (Lairson) Aincham in Oklahoma.

Del loved God and his family first. He was a friend to all with such a kind and loving heart. Besides his passion for farming, Del worked a few other jobs over the years, including custodian at Adair-Casey Schools from 1989 to his retirement in 2010. Many kids at the school thought of him as "Grandpa" and each were very special to Del.

He enjoyed gardening and took pride in his many gardens over the years. Other joys in his life were fishing, telling stories, playing outside with TJ and Deven, and singing songs to Bridgett.

Del was preceded in death by his parents Carl & Janice Warner; his brother Roland Warner; his father-in-law Cecil Lairson; and his mother-in-law Marie Lairson on August 6, 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Quanna Warner; his children, Heather McCann and husband Carl of Newton, Alice Pankonen and special friend Ryan Ray of Adair, Stephanie (Aincham) Silvia and Stephen Aincham of Colorado; his grandchildren Greg McCann and wife Brandy of Des Moines, Derek McCann and special friend Alejandra Saldana of West Des Moines, Bridgett Pankonen of Adair and TJ Aincham and Deven Silvia of Colorado; his great grandchildren Dylan Heywood and Skylar Pierce of Des Moines; his Aunt Kathryn Warner of Indianola; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Per Del's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Adair, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Adair.

A private family interment of cremains will be held at a later date.

Hockenberry Family Care in Adair, Iowa, is assisting Del's family.
