Delores Karns

DeLores Karns, 86, of Waterloo, Iowa, (formerly of Anita, Iowa) passed away January 16, 2008, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

DeLores Catherine Karns was born on November 10, 1921, in Spring Valley, Minnesota, the daughter of Frederick and Florence (Daehler) Lee.

She was united in marriage to Max Karns on August 28, 1950, at the United Methodist Church in Anita, Iowa. Max passed away in May of 1988. Together, DeLores and Max had their own paper hanging and painting business.

Delores enjoyed playing cards and bingo at the American Legion Hall in Anita. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Lee and his wife, Janet of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and her three sisters, Marlys Lehman and her husband, Robert of Waterloo, Iowa, Shirley Bartz of Waterloo, Iowa, and Joyce Hall and her husband, Russ of Mission, Texas.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Kenneth, Melvin and Marvin Lee; and two sisters, Evelyn Carson and Lois Lee.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Anita, Iowa, with Pastor Bonnie Peterson officiating. Visitation in Anita will be one hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Anita, Iowa.

(A visitation for those in Waterloo, Iowa, will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at Parrott & Wood Chapel.)
