Dennis Eugene Lynn Billings

Dennis Eugene Lynn Billings, the son of Dennis Lee Billings and Lonnie Lollie, was born April 18, 1978, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa and died October 2, 2014, at his home in Kimballton, Iowa at the age of 36 years, 5 months, and 14 days.
Dennis was baptized at the Fellowship of Faith Church near Oakland, Iowa. He attended Grade School in the Atlantic Community School then graduated from the Elk Horn-Kimballton High School with the Class of 1997.
Dennis was employed at Henningsen Construction Company where he helped construct steel buildings for several years. He then was employed at Quality Machines in Audubon, Iowa and worked as a metal fabricator until he was forced to retire due to his health.
Dennis volunteered at the animal rescue in Guthrie Center, Iowa and enjoyed helping care for the animals. He enjoyed fishing and listening to music. He liked landscaping and tinkering with computers. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his son Deven.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father Dennis Lee Billings; his paternal grandparents Lloyd “Poncho” and wife Ruth Billings; and his uncles Kenneth Ericksen, William Harrell, and James Maxwell Lollie.
Survivors include his son Deven Eugene Billings of Audubon, Iowa; Deven’s mother Heather Possehn of Audubon; his mother Lonnie Lollie; his sister Jessica Billings-Hoegh and husband Aaron all of Kimballton, Iowa; his nephew Zach Hoegh of Kimballton; his aunts Vicky Ericksen of Kimballton, Sheryl Harrell of Clarinda, Iowa and Beverly Billings and husband Chris Risden of Audubon; his uncle Richard Eugene Lollie of Marianna, Florida; his cousins Michael (Crystal) Lollie of Kimballton, Joshua Harrell of Des Moines, Iowa, Andrea Harrell of St. Cloud, Minnesota; Kimberly Ericksen of Atlantic, Iowa, Dylan Lollie of Kimballton, and Jayden Fiebelkorn of Atlantic; his best friend and faithful 4-legged companion Athena, other relatives and friends.
