Dennis Meyer

Dennis LeRoy Meyer was born to Virgil LeRoy and Bessie Lois (Nelson) Meyer in Atlantic, Iowa, on the 15th day of May, 1943. He passed away at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic on February 7, 2014, reaching the age of 70 years, 8 months and 22 days.

Preceding Dennis in death were his parents, Virgil LeRoy Meyer and Bessie Lois Nelson Meyer; his son, Kelly William Meyer in 1985; his grandson, Kegan LeRoy Meyer in 1997; and his brother-in-law, Tom Harry in 2009.

Those surviving Dennis and remembering him always are his wife, Alene (Landen) Meyer of Atlantic, IA; his son, Kevin and his wife Jody Meyer of Shreveport, LA; his daughter, Kodi and her husband Kevin Newman of Wiota, IA; his grandchildren, Kaitlin Meyer, Jordanne Meyer, Kyale Meyer, Kayden Newman, and twins, Kaleb and Khloe Newman; his great-granddaughter, Sophia Greco; his brothers, Richard and his wife Linda Meyer of Atlantic, IA, Chris and his wife Kathy Meyer of Atlantic, IA and Craig and his wife Deborah Meyer of Lewis, IA; his sisters-in-law, Shiela Harry of Omaha, NE, Lucia and her husband Larry Kinnison of Oakland, IA and Mary and her husband Bob Armstrong of Atlantic, IA; his aunt, Ardelle Clevenger of Council Bluffs, IA; his step-mother Phyllis Chaney Meyer of Avoca, IA and extended family. Also left to honor his memory are his special friends, Savannah Whetstone, Paige Harden, Sue Bates, Dorinda, Jodean, Brad, Shelby, Marty, Cody, Taylor and "Herbie";
cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends the world over.

A Masonic service will be held at 4:30 p.m. prior to visitation from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic, Iowa, with burial in the Atlantic Cemetery.
