Diane Marie Dominick, the daughter of Marvin James and Norma (Kelly) Dominick was born December 3, 1949, in LeMars, IA, and died October 30, 2017, at the Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City, IA, at the age of 67 Years, 10 months, and 27 days.
Diane was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church. She attended school in Humboldt, IA, and then graduated from the Audubon High School with the Class of 1968.
Diane was a free spirit who lived in many places throughout her life. Along the journey of life, Diane, made countless friends, many of them became life-long friends. As she grew older, Diane's health began to deteriorate. She moved to Evergreen Estates assisted living in Cedar Rapids, IA where she lived for several years. In December of 2015, Diane moved to Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City to be closer to her family and where she resided until her death.
Among Diane's enjoyments were reading, writing, art work, music, and watching old TV shows and movies. She was a good listener, and was always a friend willing to lend a hand. She will be greatly missed by her many friends at Holy Spirit.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Marvin and Norma Dominick, and her brother Jon Dominick.
Survivors include her sons Demetrius and wife Leslie Dominick of Sioux City, IA; and Damien Dominick of Colorado; her two grandchildren Ruby and Sam Dominick both of Sioux City, IA; her brothers Dr. Mark and wife Sally Dominick of Evansville, IN, Gary and wife Holly Dominick of Sioux City, IA and Mike and wife Abby Dominick of Joplin, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family will meet with friends on Monday afternoon, November 6, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted by Reverend Antony Mathew on Monday, November 6, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon. Inurnment will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery near Audubon, Iowa.
Diane’s family appreciates the many expressions of sympathy and concern. A special thank you to Hospice of Siouxland and Holy Spirit Retirement Home for all the care and love they showed Diane. It meant so much to all of us.
