Doloris Carr

Doloris Alice (Wohlleber) Carr was born on May 28, 1923, in Cass County, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Mabel (Alexander) Wohlleber and passed away on September 18, 2011, at the Cass County Hospice Center in Atlantic, Iowa.

The family lived north of Anita on a farm. Doloris attended country school and then school in Anita. On August 5, 1942, Doloris was married to Eugene Carr in Unionville, Missouri. The couple farmed around Anita until 1956, when they moved to Des Moines, Iowa. Doloris was employed at the J. C. Penney store downtown and Younker's at South Gate. They later returned to Anita.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Carr; her parents, Fred and Mabel Wohlleber, her brothers, Lyle and Herbert Wohlleber and her sister, Doris Barberi.

Doloris is survived by her sons, Clifford Carr and his wife, Joye of Anita, Iowa, and Robert Carr and his companion, Ruth Wester of Brayton, Iowa; and her daughter, Marlyce Carr and her wife, Debbie of Dallas Center, Iowa; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Willa Dean Duff and her husband, Art of Anita, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Anita Community Center in Anita, with burial of cremated remains in the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita.
