Donna Lou Walp, the daughter of John A. and Margaret E. Davis Ruddy, was born September 8, 1941, in Audubon, Iowa and died July 30, 2012, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 22 days. Donna attended the Audubon Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1959. She worked various jobs for a short time then moved to Chicago, Illinois where she attended training school for United Airlines. Following her training, Donna, was employed as a ticket agent for United Airlines. She first worked in Chicago then later was transferred to Denver, Colorado. On August 21, 1971, she was united in marriage to Joseph Walp. Donna continued to work as a ticket agent for United Airlines until she retired. During retirement she enjoyed making crafts and caring for her pets. In 2002 they moved to Marble, North Carolina. Donna returned to Audubon where she lived until she moved to the Exira Care Center in July of 2012. Donna was a supporter of the Murphy Humane Society. She enjoyed visiting with friends, making crafts, and studying family genealogy. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and grand parents. Survivors include her husband Joseph Walp of Marble, North Carolina; her brothers and sister: Michael and wife Dianna Ruddy of Audubon, Iowa, Charles and wife Tammy Ruddy of Centennial, Colorado, and Kaye Nowatzke and friend Jim Wiskus of Audubon; her nieces and nephews: J. C. and wife Stefanie Ruddy and Maggie and husband Ryan Butler all of Altoona, Iowa, Lauren and husband Kirk Landon of Honolulu, Hawaii, Celeste and husband Jason Sperr of Centennial, Anthony and wife Nicole Ruddy of Parker, Colorado, Dan Nowatzke of Audubon, Mary Nowatzke of Atlantic, Iowa, her grandnieces and grandnephews: Payton Butler, Lily Butler, Brooklynn Ruddy, Trinity Sperr, Lucy Ruddy, Anna Nowatzke, Jaydin Nowatzke, Drake McDermott; her aunts: Irma Jurgens of Denison, Iowa and Darleen Fredericksen of Denver, Colorado; cousins other relatives and many friends.
Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon.
Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Saturday morning from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon.
Service:
Funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Dr. Ronald Yarnell on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon, Iowa.
