Doris F. Moree Fredrickson, 90, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away October 9, 2010. She was a resident at the Heritage House in Atlantic.
Doris was born February 2, 1920, to Denver and Daisy Moree in Sequoyah, Oklahoma. As a child her family moved to the Hawthorne and Emerson areas and then settled in the Wales/Lincoln area to farm.
She graduated from the Wales/Lincoln High School in 1937. Doris married Anders Uno Fredrickson on August 29, 1946, in Red Oak, Iowa. They had three children and resided in Red Oak until moving to Atlantic in 1957.
Before Doris married she worked as a switchboard operator for Northwestern Bell in Red Oak. Doris worked in Atlantic at the Coca Cola Bottling plant, Seiferts, Tobers and Pamida before retirement.
Survivors include a son, Andy (Nancy) Fredrickson of Atlantic; daughters, Pam (Gary) Lundberg of Aurora, Colorado, and Janele Leeson of Aiken, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Tom (Maria) Fredrickson of Atlantic, Shelley (Brian) Shepherd of Denver, Colorado, Jill (Eddie) Gray of Denver, Colorado, Bruce (Amber) Leeson of Glasgow, Kentucky, Ryan Leeson of Augusta, Georgia and Todd Leeson of Gainsville, Florida; six great-grandchildren, Aiden Fredrickson of Atlantic, Chase and Devin Shepherd of Denver, Colorado, Max Gray of Denver, Colorado, and Samuel and Kinsey Leeson of Glasgow, Kentucky; two brothers, Denver (Shirley) Moree of Atlantic and Raymond (Mavis) Moree of Red Oak; sister-in-law, Edith (Darwin) Anderson of Coralville, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Preceding Doris in death were her husband, Uno "Swede" Fredrickson, her parents, and her son-in-law, Larry Leeson.
Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church, Hospice or Heritage House of Atlantic.
Visitation will be held at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 13, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be Thursday, October 14, at 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa.
