Dorothy Mae Kallesen, the daughter of Charles and Johannah Roager Woodward, was born June 25, 1918, at her parents’ home in Harrison County near Pisgah, Iowa and died July 12, 2011, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 93 years and 18 days. Dorothy was raised on a farm near Pisgah, attended rural schools and then graduated from the Pisgah High School. She later was employed as a waitress for a short time. On June 22, 1937, she was united in marriage to Daniel E. Kallesen. Two daughters Sharon and Janice were born to this union. They lived all their married life in Audubon. Dorothy was employed in the Audubon County Treasurers office at the court house for a short time, and then did office work at A & G Farm Service Company for several years. Later she was employed as a secretary for the Madsen, Groteluschen, and Tinker Law Office where she worked for many years. Dan died August 8, 1990. Dorothy lived in her home until she moved to the Friendship Home in Audubon in August of 2010. Dorothy became a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church when they moved to Audubon. She attended faithfully, taught Sunday school and Bible school, and was active in her circles and making quilts. She also was a member of the Bible study group for many years. Dorothy was preceded in death in addition to her husband Dan, by her parents; her brother Ralph and wife Lois Woodward; her sisters Irma and husband John Pape, Leila and husband Walter Pape, and Lorna and husband Charles Hall. Survivors include her daughters Sharon Frederiksen and Janice and husband Gary Christensen all of Audubon, Iowa; her grandchildren Lana Barker of Tucson, Arizona, Daniel and wife Sarah Christensen and Lisa Frederiksen all of Audubon, Penny and husband Nicholas Rhodes, Sr. of Malibu, California, and Angela and husband Jack Coyier of Waukee, Iowa; her great grandchildren William Christensen, Elizabeth Christensen, Joseph Christensen, Erica Frederiksen all of Audubon, Jacob Barker and Lukas Barker both of Tucson, Jade Rhodes and Nicholas Rhodes, Jr. both of Malibu, Ellis Coyier and Dashiell Coyier both of Waukee; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Cemetery:
Interment will be held in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.
Visitation:
The family will meet with friends on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. until time of the service at Our Saviour\'s Lutheran Church in Audubon.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa.
