Funeral Services for Doug Nollette, age 63, of O'Neill will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 11th at St Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, Nebraska. Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery at Anita, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 P.M., Thursday at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with an 8 P.M., Prayer Service. He passed away Sunday morning at West Holt Memorial Hospital at Atkinson, Nebraska.

Doug was born December 24, 1945 at Alliance Nebraska to Richard and Ellen (Murphy) Nollette. He grew to manhood in the Alliance area graduating from High School there. In 1969 he graduated from Chadron State College. He taught for 4 years and in 1976 he received his Masters Degree in School Administration. He was principal in Ponca and Albion Nebraska, and Superintendent of Schools in Bladen and Benkelman, Nebraska.

Doug married Karen Kitelinger on October 2, 1976, in Anita, Iowa. They came to the O'Neill area in 1990, when he became Superintendent of the O'Neill Public High School. Doug served in that position for the next 15 years.

Doug loved spending time with his family, and was especially fond of his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the O'Neill Lions Club, Ducks Unlimited, the Schoolmasters Association, and NSAA. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and the O'Neill Rotary Club.

Doug is survived by his wife, Karen of O'Neill; his daughters, Kristin Gramazio and her husband, Tony of Omaha, NE, and Lisa Nollette of O'Neill and her friend, Dave Citta of North Platte, NE; his grandchildren, Devon and Lucy Gramazio; his sisters, Sharon Grotts of Sterling, CO., Jeanette Ward of Denver, CO., and Roselyn Lane of Seattle, WA.; his brothers, Bruce Nollette of San Antonio, TX., Keith Nollette of Alliance, NE, John Nollette of Las Vegas, NV., and Tom Nollette of Dallas, TX.; his mother-in-law, Lucille Simser of Atlantic, IA.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Doug Nollette Memorial Scholarship Fund.
