Douglas Nord Wedemeyer, 54 of Adair, Iowa, died August 18, 2012, at his home in Adair, Iowa, surrounded by his family.

He was born November 28, 1957, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Melvin and Norma (Nord) Wedemeyer. He was raised on the family farm north of Adair. Doug was united in marriage to Janet Elaine Hough on February 14, 1981, at the United Methodist Church in Adair. They made their home north of Adair and raised three sons, Jared, Eric and Ben.

Doug was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation for 27 years. He also owned and operated Wedemeyer Salvage. He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Adair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Norma Wedemeyer, and his father-in-law, Rich Hough.
