Doyal L. Nosekabel, 62, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.
Doyal Lynn Nosekabel, Jr. was born on September 28, 1945, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Doyal and Mabel (Rexrote) Nosekabel.
Doyal lived in California until his teenage years, and then moved back to Council Bluffs, graduating from Council Bluffs High School in 1963. He also had lived in the Glenwood area for many years.
In 1967, he married Janet Hastie. To this marriage two daughters were born, Marsha and Brandie. He later married Martha Newcomb in 1977, and to this marriage two daughters were born, Jamie and Dawn. Following their births the family moved to Carbon, Iowa. In 1989, he met Kay Lambertsen and moved to Atlantic in 1990. On June 13, 1992, Kay and Doyal were married.
Doyal was a band manager for the Mesa Band. He also managed The Rendezvous Bar in Wiota, Iowa. His passion was being a mechanic. Doyal operated a shop out of his home.
He was a member of Eagles Lodge #3763, and had served as a trustee for 7 years.
Doyal enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, country music and television.
Doyal is survived by his wife, Kay of Atlantic; his children, Tisha Mendenhall and her husband Rick of Atlantic, Shawn Anderson and her husband, Mark of Atlantic, Brandie Woodyard and her husband Kevin of Shenandoah, Michelle Williams of Atlantic, Jamie Nosekabel of Atlantic, Melissa Burg of Huxley, Dawn Thompson and her husband, Mike of Atlantic, and Mitch Burg and his wife, Megan of Atlantic; 19 grandchildren; daughter-in-love, Rachel Clausen and her husband, Jeff of Atlantic; his sister, Dianna Nosekabel Fogelman and her husband, Brian Fogleman of Tea, South Dakota; his brothers, Earl and his wife, Nancy of Glenwood, Mark and his wife, Heather of Atlantic, Shawn of Glenwood, Aaron of Nodaway, and Dennis Bomer of Atlantic; his step-mother, Bonnie Nosekabel of Nodaway, IA, and her daughter, Tammy Zuniga of Shambaugh, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Doyal and Mabel Nosekabel; his daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Robert Harris; his niece, Krista Nosekabel; and his nephew, Luke Bomer
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2008, in the chapel at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, with cremation to follow. Following the funeral service the family invites you to join them for a luncheon at the Eagles Lodge #3763, 307 Walnut Street in Atlantic.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Friday.
