Dylan J. Nelsen, 20, of Adair, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident.

Dylan James Nelsen was born December 14, 1987, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Rick E. Conrad and Jane Ellen Nelsen-Imhoff. He lived all of his life in Adair, Iowa, and graduated from Adair-Casey High School in 2006.

Following graduation, he worked for the Siegwerk Ink Factory in Des Moines, Iowa, and Cardinal Glass in Greenfield, Iowa. Dylan was currently employed by Iowa Roofing in Adair, Iowa.

He was a member and was baptized at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Adair, Iowa.

Dylan's wonderful personality was shared by his many friends. He was a lover, not a fighter. He had a particular attachment for cars, motorcycles and four-wheelers, or anything with wheels. He also spent time hunting, another passion of his. Dylan enjoyed playing Texas Holdem' Poker and was very good, winning often.

Dylan is survived by his mom, Jane Imhoff and her husband, Don "Axl" of Adair, Iowa; his dad, Rick E. Conrad of Casey, Iowa; his sister, Kayla Imhoff of Adair, Iowa; his paternal grandparents, Richard Conrad and his wife, Kathy of Casey, Iowa, and Rona Gayle Baer and her husband, Don of Fort Collins, Colorado; his step-paternal grandparents, Robert "Bullet" Imhoff and his wife, Jan of Atlantic, Iowa, and Carol Phippen of Atlantic, Iowa; his special friend, Ashley Vorrath of Adair, Iowa; several aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Morris and Helen Nelsen; paternal great-grandparents, Fred and Eveyln Christensen and Henry Conrad; and his uncle, Tim Imhoff.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Casey, Iowa, with the Reverend Ray Holmquist of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Adair, Iowa, officiating.

A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Tuesday, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Casey.

Hockenberry Funeral Home in Adair, Iowa, is in charge of the arrangements.
