E. Ehle

Elda Lorraine Ehle, 86, of Lyman, Iowa died Sunday morning, February 19, 2012, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa, where she had resided since May 2008.

Lorraine was born March 13, 1925, to Cecil D. and Georgia (Thomas) Taylor in Lincoln Township, Cass County, Iowa. On January 14, 1942, Lorraine married Delbert C. Ehle in Anita, Iowa. This union was blessed with three children: Gary, Karen and Kent.

She held many waitress positions in Anita, farmed outside of Anita with family members, and candled eggs at the Lyman Produce for many years before her retirement.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Gary Ehle and wife Phyllis of Lyman, Karen Underwood and her husband Ray of Lyman and Kent Ehle and Theresa of Atlantic; four grandchildren, Debbie Schuler, Kirt Underwood, Kristi Ehle and David Ehle; two step-grandchildren, Rod Christensen and Jeff Christensen; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Courtney Schuler; step-great-grandchildren, Misty Kepner, Seth Christensen, Chad Christensen, Dylan Christensen and Tyler Christensen; sisters-in-law, Mary Ehle and Treva Taylor; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Ehle; her parents, Cecil and Georgia Taylor; her father and mother-in-law, Carl and Ivy Claussen; her brothers, Keith and Leroy Taylor; her sisters-in-law, Bernie Taylor and Marlene Taylor; and brother-in-law, Donald Ehle.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Evergreen Cemetery in Anita, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Hockenberry Family Care in Anita, Iowa.
