Elaine Thora Bald, the daughter of Gladys Elnora (Jensen) and Harry George Bald, was born April 28, 1934, at her parents home in Brayton, Iowa and died January 12, 2009, at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 74 years, 8 months, and 14 days.
The Good Shepherd, Jesus, embraced Elaine as His lamb by Holy Baptism on January 6, 1935.
Elaine attended Audubon Community School and graduated with the Class of 1952. After graduation Elaine moved to Omaha and was employed at Kitty Clover Potato Chip Manufacturing Company where she worked on the line. She was employed at Western Electric (A.T. & T.) where she was line manager and was involved in quality control. She retired from Western Electric in 1987.
Upon retiring, Elaine moved to Audubon where she lived until she went to be with the Lord. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Audubon. Some of the activities Elaine enjoyed were fishing, golfing, playing cards, the outdoors, and animals, especially her dog Cassie. Elaine enjoyed spending time with shut-ins, reading to them and taking care of their needs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Darrell Bald and Merlin Bald; her brother-in-law LeRoy Petersen and her niece Susan Lebeck.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Mary Ann Petersen; Alvie and Sandra Bald; Dallas and Doris Bald; Delores and Gary Walters; Gary and Joanne Bald, all of Audubon, IA; Judy and Jack Burns of Glidden, IA; Karen and Wayne Heuss and Connie and Marcel Fett, all of Audubon; her sisters-in-law: Gail Bald of Audubon and Joyce Bald of Cameron, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon.
Visitation:
The family will meet friends Friday afternoon from 12:30 until time of service at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Bradley Ketcham on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Audubon, IA.
