Elmer William Bauer

Elmer William Bauer, the son of William and Anna Koenig Bauer, was born June 20, 1915, at his parents home in Ross, Iowa and died June 20, 2009, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 94 years.
Elmer was baptized at the Calvary Church in Ross, Iowa. He attended rural school Cameron No. 9 in Audubon County, Iowa, then helped operate the family farm.
On June 23, 1932, her was united in marriage to Lillie Ahrendsen at the Trinity Lutheran Church near Manning, Iowa. Four children Shirley, Jane, Patricia, and Richard were born to this union. They farmed for a short time in Leroy Township, then farmed in Lincoln Township. They operated the farm their entire married life. They retired from farming in 1984. Elmer and Lillie enjoyed their retirement years together. Lillie died June 9, 2001. Elmer lived on the farm, then moved to the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa in the later part of 2003. He enjoyed playing his accordion at the Friendship Home.
Elmer was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Audubon. He was a long-time cattle feeder and shipped cattle on the T. Bone Train every year.
Preceding him in death in addition to his wife were his parents and his sisters: Helen Terry, Lila Deist and Mildred Petersen.
Survivors include his children: Shirley and Glen McLaughlin of Kansas City, MO; Jane and Mahlon Lamp of Atlantic, IA; Pat and Jim Ransom of Omaha, NE; and Richard (Dick) Bauer of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren and his brother Victor Bauer of Audubon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in Arlington Heights Cemetery in Audubon.

Visitation:
The family will meet friends Tuesday at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Audubon from 10:00 until time of service.

Service:
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa.
