Emily Eden

Emily Elizabeth Eden of Anita, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Colonial Manor in Anita.

Emily was born December 22, 1979, to Steven and Dana (Blazek) Eden in Atlantic, Iowa. She was baptized and was a member of the Anita Congregational United Church of Christ.

During her school days in Anita she was in FFA showing animals at the county fair. She also played girls volleyball and basketball and graduated with the Anita High School class of 1998.

Emily was a sassy, strong willed girl who had the capability to trick you without you even knowing it. Her smile and sparkling blue eyes will be held in our hearts and memories forever.

Survivors include her mother, Dana Teeters of Anita; her brother, Jay (Kelsi) Eden of Wiota; her sister, Jenna (Justin) Carnahan of Des Moines, Iowa; her grandmother, Maxine Blazek of Indianola, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Jaxson Eden of Atlantic, IA, Reese Snyder and Jaci Eden of Wiota, IA, and Madden and Emerie Carnahan of Des Moines, IA; uncles, John (Joan) Blazek of Wichita, KS and Kyle Blazek of Sydney, Iowa; cousins, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Emily in death were her father, Steve Eden and her grandparents, Donald and Lucille Eden and Jack and Betty Blazek.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Anita Congregational United Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hockenberry Family Care in Anita, Iowa.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita, Iowa.
