Frank Mcmullen

Frank Eblen McMullen, age 89, of Massena, IA, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha, NE. Frank was born the son of William Eugene and Mary (Eblen) McMullen on August 28, 1932, in Cumberland, Iowa. He went to school in Cumberland, Iowa, and graduated in 1951.

On October 26, 1952, he married Catheryn Carmack. In December of 1952, he was drafted into the United States Army and served honorably until he was discharged on Christmas Eve, 1954. Frank and Catheryn were married for 46 years. Cathryn passed away in 1998. Frank worked in the Safeway grocery Store in the Atlantic area for several years after his tour of duty with the Army. In 1965, he began farming in the Massena area until his health forced him to retire.

On March 21, 2002, Frank was united into marriage to Carole Lombard. Frank was a member of the Masons for over 60 years and together, they enjoyed many years of working with the Lions Club and many, many other social activities throughout the community.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cathryn; brothers, Francis Lee, Leanard Ray, William, Jr, Allan and Myron; sister, Bonnie Miller. He is survived by his wife, Carole McMullen of Massena; stepson, Benjamin Johnson; three step grandchildren; brothers, Tom McMullen of Irwin, IA, Bob McMullen of LaPlace, LA and Steve McMullen of Shenandoah Valley, VA by; sisters, Irene Bywater of St. George, UT, Sarah Anderson of Dahinda, IL and Deadra Erickson of Lorimor, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic with Rev. Jodi Rushing officiating followed by a luncheon held at the funeral home. A graveside service at 1:30 pm on Wednesday at the Victoria Township Cemetery near Massena, Iowa with full military honors. Public visitation with the family present will be from 5 pm till 7 pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic followed by a Masonic service at 7 pm.
