Gail Conn

Gail Robert Conn, age 71, of Lewis, IA, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at his home in Lewis, IA.

Gail was born on March 14, 1952, in Atlantic, IA, the son of Harold and Doris (Polson) Conn. A lifetime resident of Lewis, he graduated from Griswold High School with the class of 1970. He began his career driving trucks with his dad, Harold, for Conn Brothers Trucking.

Gail enjoyed going to breakfast with all the guys, reminiscing about the good old days. He loved riding motorcycles with Tom Fritz and his brother Stephen. The many miles he made included a trip to Sturgis, SD. After retiring from his trucking career and farming hobby, he loved watching westerns, Ice Road Truckers, NASCAR, and playing solitaire.

Gail is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Doris, and his siblings, Gregory and Stephen.

Gail is survived by his children, Angie Brockman of Atlantic, and Rachel (Breck) Chambers of Tabor; five grandchildren, Alexis Brockman, Nathan Brockman, Dylan Chambers, Jayden Ford, and Carlie Chambers; two sisters, Sue (Larry - AKA MO) Mosier of Atlantic, and Jeanne Weddum of Atlantic; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.

Graveside Service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Oakwood Cemetery in Lewis, IA.

A celebration of life gathering will be held starting at 12:00 p.m. at the Lewis Community Building, also held on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

Memorials may be directed to the Gail Conn Family in honor of his name. They will be designated at a later date to many of his favorite local organizations and charities. They may be mailed to the Conn Family at P.O. Box 212, Lewis, IA, 51544.
