Garth Lords, 60, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease Friday, February 27, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Society in Red Oak, Iowa.
Garth Brent Lords was born August 31, 1954, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Darrell and Ethel (Davidson) Lords. He grew up in Aberdeen, Idaho, graduating from high school there. He then moved to Salt Lake City, UT.
On March 23, 1991, he married Tina Schrunk while in Salt Lake City. They were sealed for eternity on May 2, 1998, in the Salt Lake Temple. In 2005, he and Tina moved to Cedar Rapids, IA and then in 2006 they moved to Atlantic, Iowa.
Garth worked in the siding industry for 20 years. He then worked in maintenance for General Growth Properties for 14 years, and started his own home maintenance business when they moved to Atlantic.
He was a member of the Atlantic Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Some of his favorite pastimes were playing solitaire on the computer, fixing or making things better, fishing, playing with the dogs and being with his wife.
Preceding Garth in death were his mother, Ethel Lords, his grandparents and a number of aunts and uncles.
Garth is survived by his wife, Tina Lords of Atlantic, IA; sons, Corey Lords and Rick (Karissa) Lords all of Utah; father, Darrell Lords of Idaho; brothers, Lorin (Vicky) Lords, Alan (Meledy) Lords, Steven (Debra) Lords all of Utah and Keith (Nancy) Lords of Arizona; sister, Barbara (Alan) Johns of Idaho; as well as nieces, nephews and other numerous relatives.
Visitation with family will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, IA.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Atlantic Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Burial will be in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.
