Gary Pearce

Gary Pearce, 63, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2008, at his home in Atlantic, Iowa.

Gary Dean Pearce was born on October 3, 1944, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Earl and Ruby Jean (Bannister) Pearce.

Gary had lived in Cass County, Iowa, his entire life. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Gary worked for Koenig Implement until 1971. He was currently working for Henningsen Construction, and had worked there for 35 years.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #3763.

Gary is survived by his son, Vince Pearce and his wife, Arlene of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Samantha and Noah Pearce of San Diego, California; brothers, Raymond Knutsen of Atlantic, Iowa and Floyd Pearce of Cumberland, Iowa; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and numerous friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Pearce and Ruby Jean Knutsen; sister, Penny Sellers; and friend, Linda L. Adams.

The family has chosen to honor Gary's wishes of cremation. A visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Hockenberry Family Care. Condolences may be left at the funeral home starting at 10:00 a.m., Thursday. The Atlantic Color Guard will honor Gary's service to his country at 5:00 p.m., Thursday. Following the visitation there will be a luncheon at the Eagles Lodge #3763, 307 Walnut Street, Atlantic. This luncheon is open to all family and friends.
