Harold Powell Ii

Harold Eugene Powell II, 46, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Atlantic Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Atlantic, Iowa.
He was born September 6, 1967, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Harold Eugene and Patty Rae (Moore) Powell.

Pudge lived in Fort Dodge until he was 11 years old. At that time the family moved to Atlantic, IA. He attended the Fort Dodge and Atlantic school systems. Pudge was baptized in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnside, IA, and was confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic, IA.

He had previously been employed at Fort Dodge Asphalt, Henningson Construction and Concept Builders both of Atlantic, and most recently at Tyson Foods in Council Bluffs, IA.

Pudge was a jokester and never tired of teasing his sisters. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and swimming.

Surviving Pudge is his son, Harold Eugene Powell III of Fort Dodge, IA; his parents, Harold and Patty Powell of Atlantic; his sisters, Kim Murphy of Atlantic and Heidi Powell of Griswold; his nieces and nephews, Sarah (Wiatt) Becker of Cumberland, Maggie Martens, Travis Murphy, Haley Murphy, Jade Nicholson, Joey Nielsen and Jordan Jens all of Atlantic; his great-nieces and great-nephew, Aydan Nicholson of Atlantic, Khloe Seddon of Omaha, NE, and Oliver Becker of Cumberland; and other important and very close family, Josh, Jake and Stacey Egar and Vannessa LaCaelle; many other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Lerenzle and Margaret Powell and Rex and Geraldine Moore; his sister, Kelly Martens; his great-niece, Isabelle Grace Becker; and his cousins, Heather Moore and Danny Wendell.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014, both at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.

A luncheon will be held following the memorial service in the community room at Hockenberry Family Care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the family.
